Discipline.

The past few weeks have been discouraging for me, by no one’s fault but my own. The consequences of not being a disciplined individual are quick to show their faces, so in 2012 I am going to intentionally exercise discipline in all areas of my life. Not the principal’s office and detention kind of discipline, but the act of training myself to achieve goals, even when it’s rough in the middle; finish what I started; use self-control to stop myself from doing what I know I shouldn’t; and simply work harder at the things I know that I need to do to achieve them excellently and efficiently.

I plan to allow this to flow into my life in the following areas:

  • Quiet times
  • Eating habits
  • Workouts
  • Organization
  • Negative addictions
  • Reading and learning
  • Minimized time spent online
  • Less procrastination
  • Sleep habits
  • Timely responses

Yeah, I know this is a lot of ground to cover. But each area really only needs a touch of work, and I know exactly what needs to be done to correct it. I just need the… yes, discipline… to accomplish it.

So that’s that for my goals for 2012. What are yours?
